Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box service geared toward kids ages 0-5. The items you receive are specifically selected for your child’s gender and age group.

S received the 26 month old boy box this month. Here is what was inside:

Shape Sorter from Plan Toys – At first I thought this was too young for S, but the fact that all of the shapes are tired together on a string makes it a little more challenging. We are keeping this in our travel bag for on-the-go fun.

Lunchie from Skip Hop – While I would have preferred the monkey to go with the monkey backpack we already have, S loved this and recognized that it “matched” his backpack. He insisted on storing this with his backpack immediately.

Fruit Pouch from Peter Rabbit Organics – S devoured this immediately. I guess he was hungry and that it was good!

Upset Tummy & Nausea Relief from Mommy’s Bliss – Haven’t had a reason to use this yet, but it is nice to have on hand. I’ll feel better about using this once S can say “My tummy hurts” though.

S continues to love receiving these boxes every month. It has become even more fun as now he happily yells “Open it!” when he sees the box and when things inside the box need further opening 🙂

Handprint Art Kit from Pearhead – I was excited to receive this kit in our box. It included pink and blue paints, a tray for the paint and the canvas. I decided to use it to make snowflake art with S instead of the handprints though. I used painter tape to block off a snowflake shape and then let S go to town with blue paints to cover the canvas. I peeled the tape off when it dried to reveal the snowflake. It worked pretty well, though some paint leaked under the tape.

Chunky Puzzle from Melissa & Doug – S loves puzzles so this was great for us. I actually tried to buy this puzzle over a garage sale over the summer, but the lady was so snooty about it that I decided to leave it there. And now we have a brand new one instead. Things have a way of working out.

I Took the Moon for a Walk from Barefoot Books – I thought the illustrations in this book were beautiful. S listened to the story once and then returned to asking for his old favorites instead. I think he would have been more into it if it ere about trains or snow plows.

Snuggly Lotion from Episencial – To be honest, we haven’t used this yet. S and I have sensitive skin and new lotions always make me a little leary. I have heard great things about this brand though, so we will probably try it out soon.

Stock Pot and Utensil Set from Green Toys – I personally thought this was a little boring, but S loves it so that’s what counts! Now we just need a play kitchen for him to play cook in…

Zoo Plate from Skip Hop – This thing is super durable and much thicker than the other divided plates we have. S has been using it to play with his stock pot. He ‘cooks’ pom poms and then scoops them out to serve them on this plate.

Reusable Snack Bags from Bumkins – We got the alligator and turtle prints. I will probably claim the turtle one for myself as a collector of all things turtle. I am not sure we will use these for food, but they would be nice in a travel bag or to organize small toys too.

Lip Comfort from Pur~lisse – This is the mommy item this month. I can always use more lip balms in the wintertime, so this will be put to good use.

Organicasaurus Baked Organic Corn Snack from Good Boy Organics – We received this in a Love with Food box before and we liked them. S will enjoy these someday when we are out and about

Four Sets of Address Labels and Free Shipping from Tiny Prints – You have to spend $99 in order to redeem this, so it will most likely end up unused. Oh well.

Another nice box this month. And we renewed for another year with an amazing deal on Gilt City last week, so hopefully the great boxes keep on coming!

Happy to have his picture taken with some of his new toys from Citrus Lane

Boat Whistle from Green Tones – S loves this! I wasn’t sure he’d be able to blow the whistle himself, but he sure learned quickly!

Water Bugs from Boon – Ah, bath toys. I myself an anti-bath toy. Luckily for S, Daddy gives the baths around here, and Daddy is all about the bath toys. S loves scooping up the bugs in the net and I think he could happily play with this for hours.

BOPS from Good Boy Organics – We received these in a Love with Food box recently, and S liked them then, so I know he’ll like them now.

Babybug from Cricket Magazine – This is a cute magazine for young children, and it is more durable than a regular magazine.

Babybug 3 month digital subscription from Cricket Magazine – We haven’t taken advantage of this yet, but I am sure we will. S loves playing with my iPad, so I am sure he will welcome a new app to play with.

Another great box from Citrus Lane! S really does love receiving these each month, and this month B was able to open the box and go through it with S. That was a nice treat for them both!

September 2013 Citrus Lane Box

This month I totally failed at taking photos of individual box items. The flash was all wonky, things were blurry, etc. So I don’t have any closeups of individual items for you.

Charley Harper ABCs from AMMO Books – S loves books, so we are always happy to see books in our Citrus Lane boxes. This is no exception, and the artwork is beautiful.

City Planner Blocks from Hape Toys – These are nice wooden blocks. S enjoys playing with them, but he gets a little frustrated stacking them as they are skinnier than his other blocks. He’ll get better as his fine motor skills develop, so it is a good toy for him. I am a little disappointed though because one of our blocks was splintered and not suitable for little hands.

Playful Wash from Episencial – I have been wanting to try this brand, and we are almost out of our current baby body wash. This one will be next up!

Super Toddler Bar from Happy Family – S asked to eat this right away, and then he ignored half of it. B and I tried it, and we both agree that it tasted like green tea!? S ate the rest of it with his breakfast this morning and liked it, so it’s a win!

Nail Color from Julep – I rarely paint my nails. Who has time when you have a toddler? But I have heard good things about Julep so I will try this out sometime when I get the chance. I’d prefer to see another kid item than a Mommy gift though.

All told, we love Citrus Lane and S loved this month’s box. I love the smile it brings to my kid’s face each month when he sees the Citrus Lane box waiting for him.

S received the 21 month old boy box this month. Here is what was inside:

Ball

Crocodile Creek 5″ Playground Ball – S LOVES this! He loves balls and he loves trucks, so this is perfect for him. He has been carrying it around since we opened the box up yesterday. So cute!

IMG_4605

Bandages

Ouchies Jr. Adhesive Bandages – Again with the trucks! These are great. I know that a lot of kids insist on wearing bandages even when they don’t need to, so we will be prepared if S ever gets to be like that. We’ve never needed to put a bandage on him, but I know that day is coming with my rough and tumble boy. It is good to be prepared!

IMG_4614

Book

Barefoot Books Octopus Opposites by Stella Blackstone and Stephanie Bauer – We love Barefoot Books, so this is a welcome addition to our collection! I love the bright colors, and S has been really into his other opposites books lately, so this will be great.

IMG_4609

Snacks

Plum Organics Fruit Straws – We love getting snacks in our Citrus Lane boxes, and this is no exception. My only concern is that these might be a little old for S, but I think if I cut them up for him that it will probably be fine.

IMG_4608

Hand Sanitizing Wipes

CleanWell All Natural Hand Sanitizing Wipes – I love hand sanitizing wipes, but we have never tried this brand before. They have an orange vanilla scent that is going to take some getting used to, but these will be used up for sure. S has been using the ball to knock this canister over, and he thinks it is great fun!

IMG_4615

Extras

This month’s box also included a free trial offer from FabKids and a set of cardboard bowling pins to decorate and play with with the ball.

All told, this was one of my favorite Citrus Lane boxes that we have received. We will use everything, and S loves it all, as usual. I am just hoping that they come out with a discount code for 6 month memberships soon.

August 2013 Goodies Co Tasters Box #3

Goodies Co. is a monthly subscription box service that sends 5-8 sample sized food products right to your door for $7/month. Each month the boxes vary slightly in terms of which flavors you get. I am not sure how many different boxes went out this month, but I received Tasters Box #3.

Tasters Box #3 contents

I didn’t take individual photos of each item this month. I feel like you can probably see most of the details from this picture though.

Hershey’s Chocolate Chunk Cookie Mix by General Mills – B was really excited about this. We will make these for sure, but probably not until the weather cools off a little.
Sea Salt & Butter Poplets by Rocky Mountain Popcorn – I must say I was not a fan of these. I thought I would be, but they are pretty much just kernels of popcorn that are hard and crunchy. I usually try to avoid pieces like these when we make popcorn…
Nature Valley Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Granola Thins by General Mills – I used to take these to work with me as a snack. I remember liking them, so I am glad to get more.
Fiber One Chocolate Fudge Brownie by General Mills – I’m not sure how I feel about these, but I haven’t tried it yet either. I’ll probably break into them when I have a chocolate craving and we don’t have any Oreos.

Southern Pecan Pronto Instant Coffee Drink by Barnie’s – I will totally make this some day when B is out of town for work. I’m not good at making coffee, so I am always looking for substitutes when he is on the road.

Tangy Zangy by Morris National, Inc. – These have B’s name all over them. He loves sour candies.
Mott’s Medleys Assorted Fruit Snacks by General Mills – I have been wanting to try these for a while, but I never really felt like buying a whole box, you know? So I am glad to be able to try them without having to commit to a whole box of them.

All in all I thought it was a nice box this month. It was a nice mix of items, and we will use most/all of them!
