Category Archives: Subscription Boxes

Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box service geared toward kids ages 0-5. The items you receive are specifically selected for your child’s gender and age group.

S received the 26 month old boy box this month. Here is what was inside:

Shape Sorter from Plan Toys – At first I thought this was too young for S, but the fact that all of the shapes are tired together on a string makes it a little more challenging. We are keeping this in our travel bag for on-the-go fun.

Lunchie from Skip Hop – While I would have preferred the monkey to go with the monkey backpack we already have, S loved this and recognized that it “matched” his backpack. He insisted on storing this with his backpack immediately.

Fruit Pouch from Peter Rabbit Organics – S devoured this immediately. I guess he was hungry and that it was good!

Upset Tummy & Nausea Relief from Mommy’s Bliss – Haven’t had a reason to use this yet, but it is nice to have on hand. I’ll feel better about using this once S can say “My tummy hurts” though.

S continues to love receiving these boxes every month. It has become even more fun as now he happily yells “Open it!” when he sees the box and when things inside the box need further opening 🙂

Sparaj is a monthly subscription box that delivers unique-to-Asia wellness products to your door each month. I enjoyed last month’s box so I was really excited to dive into this box the minute the mailman delivered it!

Thaniya Organic Soy Wax Candle – I received a ‘Sakura’ scented candle, which I would be totally in the dark about if we didn’t sing a song with the same title in elementary school. ‘Sakura’ means ‘Cheery blossom’ and this candle smells amazing. I really like the container it is in as well.

Karmakamet Secret World Herbal Inhaler – This is supposed to help relieve cold and flu symptoms, cough, headache, migraines and allergies if you inhale it. It seems like you are just supposed to open it up and smell it, which I can totally handle. The smell reminds me of Vick Vap-o-rub.

Thann Oriental Essence Aromatherapy Salt Scrub – I am totally saving this for a time when I can enjoy it. IE, not a weekday morning when I am rushing through my shower!

Innisfree It’s Real Bija Mask – This is made with a blend of herb complex waters and other natural ingredients.

Karmakamet Secret World Aromatic Notebook – There is a little scented packet that goes in the back of this. Supposedly the scent will last 2-3 months. I think it is a really neat idea, and I can’t wait to have some notes worthy of recording in here!

Sparaj bag – I really like the bag this month. I’m going to use it to hold my makeup and/or for toiletries when we travel.

*I had a hard time finding links to these products this month. If you know of official websites, please let me know!

Handprint Art Kit from Pearhead – I was excited to receive this kit in our box. It included pink and blue paints, a tray for the paint and the canvas. I decided to use it to make snowflake art with S instead of the handprints though. I used painter tape to block off a snowflake shape and then let S go to town with blue paints to cover the canvas. I peeled the tape off when it dried to reveal the snowflake. It worked pretty well, though some paint leaked under the tape.

Chunky Puzzle from Melissa & Doug – S loves puzzles so this was great for us. I actually tried to buy this puzzle over a garage sale over the summer, but the lady was so snooty about it that I decided to leave it there. And now we have a brand new one instead. Things have a way of working out.

I Took the Moon for a Walk from Barefoot Books – I thought the illustrations in this book were beautiful. S listened to the story once and then returned to asking for his old favorites instead. I think he would have been more into it if it ere about trains or snow plows.

Snuggly Lotion from Episencial – To be honest, we haven’t used this yet. S and I have sensitive skin and new lotions always make me a little leary. I have heard great things about this brand though, so we will probably try it out soon.

Hammock Pack is a monthly subscription box service that sends everything you need to take a mini getaway without actually going away! Hammock Pack costs $25/month plus $5 shipping. They ship USPS priority mail and it is the fastest box I get each month. Everything else takes about a week, but Hammock Pack takes two days, which I love!

I should mention that this pack arrived on time in December, and it is me who is behind on posting a review! The holidays will do that to a person sometimes!

December 2013 Hammock Pack

December’s theme was “Our Favorites” featuring favorite products from this past year’s boxes. Here is what was inside:

Ticket Kitchen Grasshopper Pie Bar and Hot Chocolate on a Stick – Both of these were delicious! I was a little skeptical of the hot chocolate on a stick because mine was 3 chili flavored, but it was actually really good!

Baggu Reusable Tote Bag – This has already come in handy! It is the perfect size for all of the things S ‘needs’ for sleeping (pillow, blanket, star projector night light, three stuffed animals) so we put it to good use when we traveled to Grandma and Grandpa’s over the holidays.

Lark Fine Foods Krinkle Cookies – These are really good. They are super crispy, but you can get around that by dunking them in a glass of milk!

Firebird Bath & Body Body Lotion – This smells really good – almost like minty baby lotion, and it is a super soft lotion as well. I really like that it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin.

Sweet Lydia’s Mint Chip S’more – This is the only thing that hasn’t been used/eaten yet. I think I will be passing it B’s way since he likes marshmallow 100xs more than I do.

I really liked this month’s box, and everything was new to me even though I have received all of the Hammock Packs since June 2013.

Did you get the December Hammock Pack? What did you think? What flavor hot chocolate did you get? What pattern is your Baggu? I heard there were some cute ones sent out!

Sparaj is a monthly subscription box that delivers unique-to-Asia wellness products to your door each month. I recently won a 6 month subscription, and this month was the first box I received. I took a lot of photos since the box was new to me, and also because it was cute!

The box

The box

I love the detail on the box.

First look - LOVE the Christmas stickers

First look – LOVE the Christmas stickers

The tissue paper was held in place with adorable Christmas stickers. I already reused this paper in a gift for a friend!

Real first look

Can’t really tell too much still, as there is a Sparaj bag on top!

Sparaj bag

The bag is one of those drawstring backpack ones. S really wanted it when I was trying to take these pictures, so I didn’t get a very good photo of it, but you get the idea.

Diffuser

Botanique Candyshop Diffuser

This is the cutest diffuser! The reeds are actually shaped like lollypops. I really like the smell, and I set this up in our bathroom right away!

Nature Republic from earth Foot Mask

The information card says that if you use this product, then in 4-7 days your foot calluses will begin to feel off and you’ll be left with soft and clean feet. Sounds great to me!

The Face Shop Face It Nail Pack

I would have never thought to even look for a product like this. The treatment for your nails and cuticles is applied by putting little sheets over each nail for 10-15 minutes. Now to find 10-15 minutes where I won’t need the use of my hands. I am excited to try this though. My hands get so dry in the wintertime, and I never really thought about my nails, but I bet they can use some attention too!

Soap

Soapbox soap

This soap is natural and handmade. It will be next in my rotation once I finish up my current bar of soap. It smells nice.

There is also an information card included that has instructions for using all of these products, which is wonderful as the actual instructions on the products are in languages I don’t know how to read. Sparaj really thought of everything!

I am very excited to try everything in this box. We are going to take the popcorn with us when we go look at Christmas lights because I always say “We should really have popcorn for this” every time we go. These will be perfect. B and I will probably enjoy the drinking chocolate with the marshmallow toppers together, and we have talked about making the spinach dip for Christmas Eve.

November 2013 Hammock Pack

November’s theme was “Hudson Valley” and everything in the pack came from there. (If you don’t know, Hudson Valley is an area in New York state just north of NYC). Here’s what was inside:

Handmade Soap by Comfort & Joy Soap Co. – I received the Oatmeal, Milk and Honey scented soap, and I adore it! It is perfect for my sensitive skin, and not too harsh at all. It came in a cute little bag too.

Coasters by Wishbone Letterpress – These are really cute. It is a set of six, hand printed coasters, delightfully tied together with twine. They are almost too pretty to use!

Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea by Harney & Sons– I just realized that haven’t tried this yet, but it sure does smell amazing! Today would actually be the perfect day for a cup of tea (it is cold and rainy) so I will have to get on that! UPDATE: It was delicious. I think it tasted like hot apple cider, only without the apple taste, if that makes sense. In any case, it was good!

Gluten-free Brownie by Savvy Girl Baking – This was delicious! Very rich and you couldn’t even tell it was gluten-free.

Cinnamon Maple Almonds by Our Daily Eats – I am enjoying these as well. I have been keeping them on my desk and nibbling on them when I feel that I need something to munch. I never would have thought to buy flavored nuts before I got into subscription boxes, but I must say that I am enjoying them when I receive them!

Did you get the November Hammock Pack? What did you think? I am already really looking forward to the December Pack!
