Time for a Thursday Thoughts link up with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom!

-I forgot to write a Weekend Recap post on Monday! Oops! Probably because I worked Monday instead of Tuesday, and then Tuesday was Christmas Eve! I’ll do a Christmas post in a bit and include everything!
-I cannot believe that Christmas has come and gone already! It doesn’t seem possible! Christmas on a Wednesday is no fun, as you have to get back to everything on Thursday. B and I had to work today, which meant S had to go to daycare. Sad times.
-Speaking of daycare, drop off was hard today. Not too many kids were there, and the regular teachers were at an all day training session. No one seemed happy to be there, from the kids to the substitute teachers/aides. S didn’t want to let me go! It is hard when you change a kid’s routine, and not having the same adults as usual was hard on him I think. But training is important, and I’m glad our center takes the time to train their staff well!
-I hope this snow sticks around til the weekend so we can get out and snowshoe, or at least play in the backyard again! We have about 3 inches, but it is supposed to warm up again. 😦
-I am excited about Target’s Christmas clearance! I hope we can get some good deals. I would love new stockings for next year, and we need a new tree. I should probably shop sooner rather than later!
Happy Thursday!

Sparaj is a monthly subscription box that delivers unique-to-Asia wellness products to your door each month. I recently won a 6 month subscription, and this month was the first box I received. I took a lot of photos since the box was new to me, and also because it was cute!

The box

I love the detail on the box.

First look - LOVE the Christmas stickers

First look – LOVE the Christmas stickers

The tissue paper was held in place with adorable Christmas stickers. I already reused this paper in a gift for a friend!

Can’t really tell too much still, as there is a Sparaj bag on top!

Sparaj bag

The bag is one of those drawstring backpack ones. S really wanted it when I was trying to take these pictures, so I didn’t get a very good photo of it, but you get the idea.

Botanique Candyshop Diffuser

This is the cutest diffuser! The reeds are actually shaped like lollypops. I really like the smell, and I set this up in our bathroom right away!

Nature Republic from earth Foot Mask

The information card says that if you use this product, then in 4-7 days your foot calluses will begin to feel off and you’ll be left with soft and clean feet. Sounds great to me!

The Face Shop Face It Nail Pack

I would have never thought to even look for a product like this. The treatment for your nails and cuticles is applied by putting little sheets over each nail for 10-15 minutes. Now to find 10-15 minutes where I won’t need the use of my hands. I am excited to try this though. My hands get so dry in the wintertime, and I never really thought about my nails, but I bet they can use some attention too!

Soapbox soap

This soap is natural and handmade. It will be next in my rotation once I finish up my current bar of soap. It smells nice.

There is also an information card included that has instructions for using all of these products, which is wonderful as the actual instructions on the products are in languages I don’t know how to read. Sparaj really thought of everything!

This box was received as a prize from an online contest. I was not obligated or otherwise compensated to provide a review. As always, all opinions are my own.

Love with Food is a monthly subscription box that sends gourmet food samples to your doorstep. What I love about this company is that they donate a meal to a hungry child for each box you buy. The regular Love with Food box  costs $10/month plus $2 shipping, while the Deluxe box is $19.95 with shipping included. This month we opted for the Deluxe box.

I am very excited to try everything in this box. B and I will probably enjoy the drinking chocolate with the marshmallow toppers together, and we have talked about making the spinach dip for Christmas Eve.

Did you get Love with Food this month? What did you think?

-Christmas is less than a week away! How did that sneak up so quickly? I think I am pretty much set though, so no last minute scramble for me!

-SURVIVOR SPOILER: I still wish Hayden had won Survivor, but I think that the right person won. I was cheering for Tyson early on, and then the edit just kind of ignored him so it was harder to root for him, you know? Oh well. Good for Tyson. Not too sure what I think about Brawn, Brains and Beauty for the next season though. I wouldn’t like being labeled if I were a contestant.

-I have so much email in my inbox it isn’t even funny. And it is 99% junk email from stores. Frustrating.

-I am just not into The Sing-Off this year. Sorry Ben Folds.

-S has been super moody about his bath lately. What is up with that? Not wanting to get in the tub, then not wanting to get out, then not wanting to walk to his room to put his pjs on. Maybe he’s overtired?

-MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my Link-up buddies!

That’s it from here. I hope everyone has a great day!

Oh my goodness, is it Monday already? S and I are both sick, so I am a bit out of it!

Saturday we were excited because B was home! He had a last minute business trip that lasted two days longer than expected Tuesday-Friday and didn’t get home til after midnight Friday night/Saturday morning. S and I sure missed him, and S was so excited when B came in in the morning to get him out of his crib!

We had big plans on Saturday to go snowshoeing and then go to the Festival of Lights, but it was so bitter cold outside that we decided to skip the snowshoeing, and then the roads were horrible at night, so we had to push back the Festival of Lights trip! Sad times, but it was probably just as well since S and I were starting to come down with colds.

Sunday we took a trip to the grocery store and then B went out skiing while S napped. Unfortunately, S didn’t nap for very long and he woke up with a fever, so he and I spent a few hours cuddling on the couch, hoping he’d feel better soon!

This morning S is feeling a lot better, but he’s still stuck with a runny nose. I’m feeling like I am one step behind myself, if you know what I mean. I’m off to rest while S naps. Take care everyone!

-I still cannot believe that S is two years old!

-I am wondering what S could possibly have wanted last night when he kept saying “No bay!” or “Nobay”. It started after his nap and he was still saying it when I put him in his crib at bedtime. He was more and more upset over it as the day went on, but nothing I offered made it better. Maybe he was just overtired? And he asked for it again this morning. Maybe he is saying “No way”? That just doesn’t seem to fit with what is going on when he says it though. Hmm.

-I cannot seem to get into the Sing-Off this time around. No one is really grabbing my attention. Am I missing something?

-Survivor is over on Sunday. Who are you rooting for? I can’t decide. I’d like Hayden to win, but I don’t think that will happen. I am also curious to watch the reunion show and find out if he and Kat are still together, or if he decided that he actually couldn’t be with someone who didn’t make it to the merge. Ha.

-I need to find a good neighborhood to drive around and see their Christmas lights. I drive S around our block on our way home from daycare, but it is getting boring for me (he still loves it though) so I was thinking of just driving around other neighborhoods and hoping some people have some nice lights. He will be sad when people take their lights down after Christmas for sure! He likes yelling “Light!” and “Wow!” as we drive by.

-I was looking up the weather yesterday and I noticed that on you can now click buttons that say ‘Love’ or ‘Ugh’ to share your mood about your current weather. WHAT PURPOSE DOES THIS SERVE? It isn’t like the weather is going to change if enough people click ‘Ugh’. If you click the buttons, it prompts you to allow them to post it to Facebook for you. Um, no thanks. I bother my Facebook friends enough with pictures of my kid, and links to enter online contests.

Anyway, that’s all from here. Hope you have a great Thursday!

Good morning, birthday boy!

Good morning, birthday boy!

I cannot believe that my little guy is already two years old! We had his party on Saturday, and we gave him is presents from us on Sunday so that he and B would have time to play with them together. S’s actual birthday was Monday, and I wanted to make sure he had a fun day! I don’t work Mondays, so I was able to take him to a local indoor play area. They have tons of toys and things to climb on, push around, jump on, etc. S had a blast! There were a bunch of other kids there, so he had fun playing with new friends. We stayed for just over an hour, and it was perfect because we both had had enough at the same time. He wasn’t even upset when I said it was time to go.

Next I promised him Wendy’s for lunch, and we picked that up on our way home to enjoy before naptime.

After his nap, we filled the bathroom sink with bubbles for a little fun with his new bath toys from B’s sister. S loved playing in the bubbles, and he thought it was great when I showed him how to blow bubbles off of his hands.

After dinner we gave S his Cheryl’s cookie that had come in the mail. You can order a cookie for $5 to be delivered on the day of your choice. I selected Monday, his actual birthday, but it came early on Saturday so I just saved it for him. Better early than late, and what kid doesn’t love getting mail?

Next it was time for the ‘official’ monthly photo shoot, and S was a real champ through it all. I wanted a few in a different spot than usual, and he obliged.

After his bath, the UPS guy rang our doorbell to deliver the Plasma Car that I ordered last week with our Pampers Gifts to Grow points. S is still a bit young for it, but we opened it up and set it up for him for a last little bit of birthday fun before bedtime. He loved it! He calls it a boat, and it was the first thing he asked for the next morning when he woke up (Oops!).

All in all, it was a great day. I still cannot believe my little kiddo is already two!!
