Time for a Thursday Thoughts link up with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom!
Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box service geared toward kids ages 0-5. The items you receive are specifically selected for your child’s gender and age group.
S received the 24 month old boy box this month. Here is what was inside:
Stock Pot and Utensil Set from Green Toys – I personally thought this was a little boring, but S loves it so that’s what counts! Now we just need a play kitchen for him to play cook in…
Zoo Plate from Skip Hop – This thing is super durable and much thicker than the other divided plates we have. S has been using it to play with his stock pot. He ‘cooks’ pom poms and then scoops them out to serve them on this plate.
Reusable Snack Bags from Bumkins – We got the alligator and turtle prints. I will probably claim the turtle one for myself as a collector of all things turtle. I am not sure we will use these for food, but they would be nice in a travel bag or to organize small toys too.
Lip Comfort from Pur~lisse – This is the mommy item this month. I can always use more lip balms in the wintertime, so this will be put to good use.
Organicasaurus Baked Organic Corn Snack from Good Boy Organics – We received this in a Love with Food box before and we liked them. S will enjoy these someday when we are out and about
Four Sets of Address Labels and Free Shipping from Tiny Prints – You have to spend $99 in order to redeem this, so it will most likely end up unused. Oh well.
Another nice box this month. And we renewed for another year with an amazing deal on Gilt City last week, so hopefully the great boxes keep on coming!

Love with Food is a monthly subscription box that sends gourmet food samples to your doorstep. What I love about this company is that they donate a meal to a hungry child for each box you buy. The regular Love with Food box costs $10/month plus $2 shipping, while the Deluxe box is $19.95 with shipping included. This month we opted for the Deluxe box.
The November theme is ‘Flavors of Fall’ and I was pretty excited about it. I love fall and fall flavors!
Tuxedo Popcorn from Kukuruza
This is delicious! It has a great blend of caramel and chocolate.
Green & Black’s Organic Dark 70% Chocolate
B and I really like dark chocolate, and these are really good, and really dark. We received two pouches with two pieces of chocolate in each one.
Maple Fudge from Laura Secord
We received three of these. I’m probably going to put them in B’s Christmas stocking if he doesn’t find them first.
Almond, Apricot and Yoghurt Bar from Eat Natural
I took this along to work with me last week and it made for a good snack. It wasnt something I’d usually buy, so it was a nice change of pace.
Sweet Corn Crunch from Sensible Foods
I haven’t tried these yet. I am hoping they aren’t too hard, as it seems like it is just unpopped corn kernels. We received two bags of these. Update: These are not at all hard! They could almost melt in your mouth. We all enjoyed these with lunch over the weekend.
Sweet Potato Popchips from Popchips
We received two bags of these and we haven’t tried them yet. We’ll probably bring them along on our next roadtrip for a snack in the car. Update: We did bring these along in the car, and they were great. All three of us enjoyed them and they were easy to pass into the backseat for S.
Black Rice Cracker Chips from Grains of Wellness
Haven’t tried these yet, but I they sound like something I’d like.
Seasoned Pistachios from The Gilded Nut
We received some flavored pistachios in a graze box a few weeks ago and we liked them. These are great too.
Rosemary Sea Salt Shortbread from Dancing Deer Baking Co
These sound amazing. I can’t believe we haven’t tried them yet!
Ginger Twist Tea from Mighty Leaf
We received two of these, and they have B’s name all over them.
Authentic Indian Spice Blend from Arora Creations
You are supposed to put these on veggies, and we just haven’t bought the right veggies to try it on yet. Soon though, soon.
Wow, writing this all out, I am surprised that we haven’t tried more of these items yet. We received the box over a week ago. I guess we have just been busy, but I did want to get this up so you could see the contents of the Deluxe box this month. I was happy with everything and excited that I hadn’t heard of most of these brands. It is always fun to have the chance to try new things, and I love that about Love with Food!
Did you get Love with Food this month? What did you think?

It was super cold and windy here this weekend, so it was a nice weekend to do some indoor activities. On Saturday we did all of our grocery shopping, and B got a haircut. My parents watched S for us afterward and B and I were able to go buy a few Christmas presents and enjoy a dinner date night. We hadn’t had a date night since February, so it was really nice to have the chance to get out without S.
Sunday we hadn’t planned on doing much, but I ended up running to two Targets to try to get a Christmas gift for B that we had seen in the ad. Luckily the second store had it in stock. Now I just need to wrap it! During S’s naptime we made a batch of homemade playdoh. S has never played with playdoh before, so it was a fun treat for him when he woke up! He really liked cutting it and rolling it between his fingers.

Our weekend started on Friday night when we went to my parents’ house to visit. My cousin was in from out of town, so she and my aunt were there too. We had fun catching up before, during and after dinner. My cousin hadn’t seen S since he was about two weeks old, so it was great that she was able to see him again. He sure is a lot different now than he was at two weeks old though!
Saturday S had a lot of energy to use up so we spent some time outside raking leaves for him to jump in. He had a blast and got good and messy! We also enjoyed grocery shopping during free sample time at Wegmans. They were introducing all of their holiday stuff so there were tons of things to try. While it is super crowded during these events, S loves sampling the food so we always make a point to go shopping then.
Sunday was a pretty cruddy day outside, so we had fun inside. I finished making S his felt toddler Christmas tree, so we hung it up to play with even though it isn’t Thanksgiving yet! He really likes putting the ornaments on the tree, but he gets mad when you take them off.
This morning we enjoyed walking around the mall with my mom and my aunt, and then we had a delicious lunch at Ruby Tuesday. I was thinking of running to Target with S when he wakes up from his nap, but it is still so windy outside, so I think we’ll just stay in!

-Yesterday I found the printer ink that I had been searching for for at least a month. I had to confirm in my past Target purchases online that I did indeed buy the ink, and that it is indeed somewhere in my home. And then I found it at last, sitting pretty much out in the open. Sigh.
