We had a very Halloween-y weekend! Saturday we had planned to go to the Howl-o-ween event at the zoo, but it was SO cold and windy that we decided to try to find an indoor Halloween event instead. We were in luck, as our local community college was hosting an indoor trick or treating event for kids, and it benefited the Red Cross. But first we went to Trader Joe’s! Trader Joe’s just opened up in our area a few months ago, and I had been holding off on going to check it out until the novelty wore off and it wouldn’t be so crowded! I went on Thursday, and then spent Thursday and Friday evening talking B’s ear off about how cool it was, so much so that he actually wanted to go check it out himself! So we all loaded in the car and headed over there. We spent some time exploring the store and picking when delicious looking foods would be going home with us! B said we’d be going back there again for sure. We left and headed on to the Halloween program.

We timed it pretty perfectly for arriving right as they opened, so that was pretty great. They had a bunch of trick-or-treat stations set up inside, and each one had a creepy Halloween doorbell to ring. S loved pressing the buttons and hamming it up for all of the people passing out candy. He did a great job waiting his turn and staying by us as we wound our way through everything. Only one costume seemed to really freak him out (a big tall guy dressed as Batman), so that was great too. He had so much fun and then he promptly fell asleep in the car on the way home!

S was a fox. He loves wearing his costume, and he runs around excitedly while wearing it. Hopefully we can get a better photo on Thursday!

One of my favorite things was when S woke up from his nap. He didn’t waste any time sneaking into the kitchen and riffling through his candy bucket. He pulled out a Twizzlers and triumphantly ran through the house waving it around. Silly Mommy and Daddy for leaving the candy bucket where he could reach it!

Sunday we did a few errands in the morning, and then headed over to my parents’ house in the evening for a combination Halloween and birthday party. S had fun hamming it up again in his costume, and we all had a great time celebrating my brother’s birthday. I know I have pictures from that too, but I am pretty sure B has the camera with him at work today, and I didn’t get a chance to download the pictures from it yesterday.

How was your weekend?
